Hello and welcome to my website my name is Joe! I am a long time artist, musician, gamer, graphic designer, and photographer. I also have been dabbling in game design, animation, and writing my own fantasy book. Keep on scrolling if you would like to know more details about each of my passions!
Education
My Career in art started very young often spent doodling in my notebooks in school. Until eventually as a young gamer who was introduced into this world by my brother I began gaming competitively. Here I found my way into making logos in Photoshop for all the competitive teams. This lead me into a love of digital design which later I was lucky enough to take classes in my high school for graphic design to further my skills in illustrator, In design, and after effects. Falling deeper in love with digital design I chose to further pursue it at Caldwell University where i took fine arts to learn the fundamentals of art, design, and colour why also focusing my concentration in graphic design to fine tune my skills. After finishing my degree I have worked many jobs that have involved design. Always doing my own graphic design work on the side even while working other jobs. During one of my jobs i fell in love with tee-shirt printing as i worked in the industry. Now I am pursuing a full time journey in my own graphic design business!
Graphic Design
My largest passion is graphic design and it is something I have been doing since age 12. I absolutely love photo manipulation in Photoshop and the process of combing multiple images into one unique finished product. This is often seen in movie posters and magazine pages! My second love I learned in high school was illustration as adobe illustrator allowed me to draw with out the worries of mistakes and having references right underneath the images i was creating. My design skills continued to grow as did my interest where being a gamer pushed me into animation and 3D modelling during the process of game design. I have learned the unique skill of picking up programs extremely quick and have the ability to learn new programs easily. Especially those programs involving design and so my skill set and knowledge continues to grow and grow, and I don’t see it stopping anytime soon!
other skills and Hobbies
Painting
Painting is something I did a lot in college to really learn colour theory. It is something that is really growing on me the older I get the more I enjoy it. I usually end up painting things for family and friends but am hoping to spread my skills out more and start taking commissions and even listing some of my paintings for sale.
Photography?
Something I never even considered until I took two courses in college was photography and once I tried it I instantly loved it. Finding patterns and controlling light out in the world and seeing it through an entirely different lens. Finding beauty in places you never even thought of and it also teaches you to appreciate things you would never notice other wise. For example a certain detail in the way a building has a repeating nature! I ended up getting a super nice camera and unfortunately don’t get to use it as much as I would like. Now I am hoping to change that and find more opportunities to take amazing photos.
Animation/and 3d modelling
Stepping into game design forced me to learn 3d modelling and animation. All though not my strongest of my skill sets still something I am 100% capable of doing and am constantly improving at. The more I create characters for games with their own animations the better I become! I have also learned animation for logo presentation and twitch streamers for custom animated overlays and designs.
Music
Being a young kid I always used to dance to music and when I hit high school a friend introduced me to Eminem. From here it was rap and i was an instant fan, I became infatuated with rhyming. Now I freestyle and it has almost become like a therapy to where I just throw on a beat and let out whatever is on my mind! So definitely expect to see some videos and clips of me throwing on an instrumental and being in my happy place.
Web Design
Web Design taught me to learn the basics of html and css but I mainly specialise in word press and have learned many skills over the years. After taking a brief class in college right after teaching my self all the skills was pretty funny to me, but it really helped me tune my skills to the next level and create websites like this one. This entire website was designed by me as proof of the skills I have developed!
Game Design
Being an avid gamer it was only a matter of time before I stepped into attempting to make my own game. Where I have dabbled and made a few small demo games in unity before switching into unreal engine 5. Only able to make small projects realising how big game design ventures out into how many different types of graphics and code knowledge is required for something mainstream. But I still always find my self coming back to it because one of my dream goals is to create my own video game one day!
Gamer
Ever since a young age I was introduced to gaming and fell in love with it. Now with social media content and streaming having a place to fit gaming into my life is fantastic! This is something I think will always have some part of my life and I would love to share with the world. So don’t be surprised to see some cool gaming clips, some tips or tricks videos, or even some game reviews coming out from JayAreAye!
Book Writing
This one is fairly new to me but the idea of this story keeps running through my head and i just knew I had to put it to paper! The creative side of me never stops pushing out ideas and I don’t want to spoil any of the book so your gonna have to wait until its finished. You can buy your own copy one day and see what my brain was thinking up in this fantasy world full of adventure I am creating with my words!
